The Minister for Education, Richard Brouton, has said that every child who needs a special needs assistant will get one. The number of Special Needs Assistants will increase by 7% to provide an additional 860 Special Needs Assistants, bringing the number to just under 13,000. Funding will be released by the end of the year.
So it seems the Minister for Education’s announcement that he plans to focus on the Community National School (CNS) model has really put the cat amongst the pigeons.
