October 8, 2015

Primary and secondary schooling in Ireland is free. However, if your child attends a private school they will have to pay fees set by the school. From 3 October 2018, schools can no longer charge an admission fee to their school.

Many state-funded schools will need to request a voluntary donation from parents to support the running of the school. The school cannot make your child’s place in their school dependent on the provision of your donation.

You can find a list of public and private schools in our school search facility, which can be accessed from our login page from 1 September 2016.
