The Irish Times has announced the winners of the Africa Day Writing Competition which was open to primary and secondary school students, as well as to adults. Entrants could write a poem, short story or essay, with the winners walking away with a selection of books worth €50 as well as a photographic session with the Irish Times.
The competition coincides with Africa Day, which falls on 25 May and celebrates Ireland’s links with Africa. The main Africa Day event was held in Farmleigh House on May 29.
